About BYRON M. GOGGIN

 

img_8457In 1990 Byron Goggin was hired by a top ten market NBC affiliate as a news editor where he remained for 2 years.  In 1992 he was promoted to “Special Projects Videographer/ Editor” where he filmed and edited Emmy Award winning programs including episodes of Dateline NBC with Chris Hansen and Anne Thompson. In 1995 his job was expanded to include “Commercial Production Director of Photography”, and “Special Project Coordinator”.

In 2000 Byron accepted the position of “Chief Photographer” at Fox Sports Net.  His duties included shooting live sporting events and pre- and post-game shows.  Byron was also responsible for the overall quality of  programming, development of strategies and technical plans for major sporting events including the Superbowl XXL, NHL Stanley Cup playoffs, NCAA playoffs, MLB World Series, Ryder Cup Golf, and NASCAR events.

In 2003 Byron was nominated for FOX News Corps “Global Excellence Award”, an honor given to only a handful in the FOX worldwide network.  Between 2002 and 2004 Byron went on to win a win a total of 6 Emmy Awards  for his outstanding work in photography, field production, and directing. 

In 2005 Byron left his position at FOX, to launch his own company, BMG Creative.  BMG achieved instant national recognition  with  the development of “Wild Weekend Adventures”, which was produced, shot, edited and hosted by Byron taking him to the next level of production.  The series aired on PBS and won a total of 7 Emmy Awards and 2 Associated Press awards.

In 2010 Byron moved from Detroit to Los Angeles and expanded his goals. Byron now travels the world capturing both cinematic and photographic images for National Geographic, Discovery Channel and History Channel. His list of photography and DP credits include shows like Ice Road Truckers, Wicked Tuna, COAL, Wild Justice, Monster Garage, and Airplane Repo.

2015 marked the launch of The Invisible Lens. Co-owner with his wife Susu Hauser, The Invisible Lens focuses on projects that are socially uplifting, thought provoking, and that can effect change.  Projects produced by The Invisible Lens range from the Cinematic Memoir of NASA physicist and 1st generation space explorer George Gloeckler, to conservation efforts with Abyssinian Lions in Ethiopia.

ABOUT SUSU HAUSER

Susu Hauser is an accomplished cinematographer and photographer having produced Emmy award winning shows including Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers, Wicked Tuna, Ax Men and Wild Justice, among others. Since 2005, Susu has worked on shows airing on National Geographic, Discovery Channel and the History Channel. Her nationally acclaimed and unique style of photography is regularly published on the National Geographic and Discovery Channel websites.

With an interest in film and photography at an early age, Susu began her career toying around in the darkroom at American University in Washington, D.C. During college she published sports photography for The Eagle, documented anti-war protests for her photojournalism classes, and interned at NBC’s George Michael Sports Machine.

For Susu, photography and travel go hand in hand. SuSu has an insatiable thirst for diverse cultures, foreign lands and exploration. Whether skydiving over Franz Josef Glacier in New Zealand, trekking the hill tribes of Northern Thailand, or diving the Great Barrier Reef, adventure has been Susu’s lifeblood. Her career has allowed this synergy to become a reality.

Susu Hauser is based in Boulder, CO and holds a B.A. in Visual Media Communications from American University.
